Approved TDCJ Volunteers can now retrain online! Please note that this ONLY APPLIES TO APPROVED VOLUNTEERS needing to complete their 2-year TDCJ Security Training. All new volunteers MUST follow the new volunteer guidelines here. Volunteers may only do the online training once every other retraining cycle (i.e. online train 1/11/2011, train in person 1/11/2013). You can find an in-person training near you here, and the TDCJ Volunteer Handbook can be found here.
The training is estimated to take about 1.5 hours, depending on how quickly you read and work through the program. You can stop any time you want to, and return later. If you stop in the middle of the training module, you will need to start that particular module over.
Please follow the steps below, and if you have questions about your retraining date, please don’t hesitate to contact the BTL office at 713-463-7200.
Please note: This online re-training mechanism only works for approved volunteers. All new volunteers still need to attend the TDCJ Security Training in person the first time.
