Joel Lightfoot is Regional Coordinator in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, managing BTL projects for the Hutchins Unit in Dallas, the Cole and Moore Units in Bonham, and the Dallas County Judicial Treatment Center in Wilmer.

Joel was born in Louisiana, and his family moved to East Texas when he was two years old (he likes to say he was “born in Louisiana but came to Texas as soon as I could walk!”). Joel’s passion for prison ministry began to develop as he obtained his bachelor’s degree in Justice Systems from Truman State University followed by a Master’s in Survey of Justice and Security from the University of Phoenix. After a successful 10-year career with AT&T, Joel turned his attention to full-time ministry for the incarcerated. Joel began as a BTL volunteer in 2016 and joined the Bridges to Life staff in 2018.

Joel ‘s wife Naomi is also a BTL volunteer. Their shared passions of Bible study, fitness, motorcycle racing, and prison ministry are foundational to their relationship. In addition to BTL, Joel and Naomi have both volunteered in ministries such as Bill Glass Behind the Walls, and Christian Motorcyclists Association.
