Dolores Stoughton
Units: Ramsey, Terrell, WHO Program-Atascocita
Dolores is one of two Greater Houston Regional Coordinators for Bridges To Life. Born and raised in Alvin, Texas, Dolores worked in the Alvin school district for thirty years, both as a third grade teacher and as a specialist in Reading Recovery©, an early intervention program.
Dolores began volunteering in prison ministry at her church over 20 years ago, serving refreshments to the families visiting loved ones at the Ramsey Unit. She also participated in weekend WATCH retreats at various units during that time. Dolores was introduced to Bridges To Life in 2007 by a friend who was a BTL volunteer. On learning about a program that offered healing, forgiveness and reconciliation to those in prison, Dolores knew she wanted to be a part of it. After several years as a BTL volunteer, Dolores was hired to staff in 2013.
Dolores has three children and eight grandchildren and still resides in Alvin.
